Aug. 29: get your corn, tomatoes, apples at the Wednesday Farmers Market

By Lisa Carolin

The Chelsea Community Fair is behind us and we’re looking ahead to Labor Day, which means this is the last Wednesday in August to take advantage of the bounty at the Wednesday Farmers Market in Chelsea.

If you like corn, time is waning so come and patronize all the vendors with corn.

Tomatoes are also plentiful, along with beans, lettuce, onions, cucumbers and zucchini.

Apple season is on its way, and the Wednesday market already has several varieties of apples to choose from.

The market also features a variety of meats and cheeses, honey and eggs, and baked goods including baguettes, brioche, fresh cakes and cookies.

The market runs from 2-6 p.m. and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at the intersection of M-52 and Old US-12.
