Aug. 29: Sylvan Planning Commission public hearing on wetlands fill-in on Cavanaugh Lake

Sylvan Township Hall
Sylvan Township Hall

The Sylvan Township Planning Commission meets Thursday, Aug. 29 with three interesting items on its agenda, including a public hearing on an application to fill in one of the last remaining wetlands on Cavanaugh Lake.

Gerald and Cynthia Hammerschmidt would like to fill in the wetlands on their property at 1720 Ridge Road.

Anyone who has an opinion on this issue should plan to attend the meeting and have their say before the Planning Commission discusses and perhaps makes a decision on the application.

Also on the agenda is:

  • A public hearing on a plan to make additions/renovations to Fr. Guannella Hall at the St. Louis Center.
  • A zoning ordinance change to add commercial use buildings and structures in the township’s MU-1 (Municipal Use) zoning district as a special use.

The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. at Sylvan Township Hall.
