This Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club will hear from Nancy Memmer, incoming First Lady of the Michigan District of Kiwanis.
She will outline her focus for Kiwanis service for the coming year that she will take to clubs around the state.
Club members will also hear from Madison Brodeur, 2018 State Police Career Academy graduate.
Last week, Lindsay Baker, director of the SRSLY program in Chelsea spoke to club members.
SRSLY is a community coalition celebrating its 10th anniversary, with roots in Chelsea. Now, there are programs in Manchester, Dexter, and Stockbridge.
A volunteer appreciation event will take place on Wednesday, Aug.15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. SRSLY alumni will talk about how SRSLY affected their lives. Since 2008, SRSLY has put on more than 500 events with 3,000 volunteers working more than 50,000 hours.
The club meeting begins each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to learn about Kiwanis.
