Beach Middle School eighth-graders will have an opportunity to learn more about future careers on March 1 when they will be afforded the opportunity to learn from professionals involved in fields such as medicine, engineering, golf course management, crime fighting and firefighting during Career Day.
“The main focus of the day is to bring real-world experiences, ideas, and connections into Beach Middle School,” according to information provided to the presenters.
“During a recent survey of students, staff, and parents, we found that a percentage of students don’t understand how the things they learn in class connect to the real world or their future jobs. Our hope is that Career Day will be a first step toward creating those connections,” the information states.
Groups of 12-20 students will have the opportunity to learn more about career opportunities during the day-long event.
