7th grade blue
Tuesday night, the 7th Grade Blue team fell to Monroe.
On offense, AJ Tokarski ran tough and had a good long run. Corbin Steele completed several passes to Tyler Walgren, Kemp Goehmann, and Tokarski.
On defense, Walgren was the leading tackler. Dillon Hutchinson and Garrett Johnson also contributed. To begin the second half, Walgren executed an onside kick that was recovered by Tokarski, with several Bulldogs surrounding him including Michael Hanna.
The Bulldogs learned a lot this year and will continue to improve as 8th graders next year.
7th grade gold
The 7th grade gold football team got off to a fast start Tuesday night against Tecumseh going up 20-0 at the end of the first half, then finished strong with a 44-16 win.
The Bulldogs took control of the game early with the defense pounding the Indians, recording several sacks and tackles for loss. Cameron Weatherwax and Dominic Guthrie both recovered Tecumseh fumbles. Guthrie’s led to a Jacob Schultz pass to Weatherwax for a touchdown.
Both quarterbacks, Griffin Murphy and Chase Kemp completed passes with Murphy connecting on two extra point conversion passes to Jack Krugh and scoring two TD’s on runs himself. Rounding out the scoring was Tyler Valek who scored three TD’s and had several electrifying runs around the Tecumseh defense.
Once again the kicking game was instrumental in securing the win for the Bulldogs with Connor McKenzie’s kickoffs and great coverage from the kickoff team regularly pinning Tecumseh in their own end of the field. The kickoff return team was also solid and featured a return for a score by Valek. The Dogs only punted once but it was another super snap by Hunter Ferry and long punt by Dylan Dollinger.
8th grade
Tuesday night, the 8th grade football team lost to Monroe on a chilly, blustery night. The Bulldogs struggled on offense but were led on defense by Sam Michael, Mitchell Reynolds, and Garrett Steele.
Ross Stofflet boomed several good punts throughout the game. The Bulldogs played tough all year and are ready to move on to high school football next year.
