Beach Middle School Volleyball Recap

7th grade gold
The 7th grade gold volleyball team played Saline and lost Thursday last night.

The first two matches were 23-25 and 22-25. Such close games.

Highlights of the night were Abria Eckert, Peyton Myers, Gianna Barney, and Tessa Gerstler with multiple impressive serves, and Mary Heiss and Ava Skrypec had some excellent digs and saves. 

8th grade gold
8th grade gold volleyball played Saline Thursday night. They lost the first set by a close margin, but then came back with a win in the second set due to strong serving from Kiley Ellis.

In the third set, the team struggled with serve receive and lost. They got down early and couldn’t come back in time.

Highlights for the night included back row digs by Addy Sieg, Camila Hurst, and Lilli Cope.  Ceci DeLong, Nora Grabarkiewicz, Julianne Sounart and Delanie Monica all did well at the net. Kiley led the serving with 11, including 6 aces.

Camila and Ceci each had 5 serves.

Lucy Martindale and Julianne each had 3.

The team plays Tecumseh at home Monday.

8th grade blue
Chelsea 8th grade blue volleyball fell to Saline all 3 sets.

Strong severs for the night were Marlo Gobba and Melayna Minyard. 

7th grade blue
The Bulldogs fought hard vs. the Saline Hornets at their first home match.

They lost 3 sets but significant improvement was seen in their rallies since the start of their season. Scores were 25-19, 25-22, and 25-20. Anna Mosher showed her leadership and consistent play on the court for the entire match as she led top servers with 10, followed by Madi Wheeler with 8, Brooke Bariage with 7, and Audrey McCarley with 6. Kaylin Schroeder also had 3 serves over net and Brooke Hurst with 2 serves. Kylie Koester and Ceci O’Rouke helped the team with some good passing and net play along with Charlie Schmunk who had some good tips over the net.

The 7Blue team will travel to Jackson Parkside this weekend for a 3-match event vs other local teams.
