7th Grade Blue
Chelsea Beach Middle 7 Blue volleyball kicked off the opening day with an away game in Monroe.
The Bulldogs led the charge with some good serving by Brooke Bariage. She was top server for the night with 5 over the net followed closely by Anna Moser with 4 successful serves. Unfortunately, the defense could not keep the Monroe Trojans from winning all 3 sets: 25-14, 25-8, and 25-9.
Good net play was seen by Audrey McCarley and Madi Wheeler had a couple nice kills.
Chelsea will work hard to improve this week and return next Monday with another away match in Adrian.
8th Grade Gold
The 8th grade Gold Volleyball team lost its season opener against Bedford Monday night. (14-25, 7-25, 8-25)
Even though they lost 3 sets, they worked hard and learned a lot.
Highlights included two saves and a back row hit by Camila Hurst, two hits and good serving by Julianne Sounart, 1 hit by Marie Maynard, and consistent serving by Ceci DeLong.
7th Grade Gold
7 Gold had a great first game against Bedford but it ended in a loss.
Gianna Barney, Tessa Gerstler, and Abria Eckert had power serves; Peyton Myers, Ava Skrypec, Mary Heiss, and Ella Gietzen all had great digs and Zoe Hurcomb had multiple tips in the front row. All around skilled plays made by all.
