Beach Middle School volleyball teams improving

7th grade blue
The 7th grade Blue Volleyball team lost a heartbreaker at Pinckney winning the first set 25-11, losing the 2nd, 9-25 and after coming back from as many as 8 points down, came back but just fell short in the third set, 24-26.

Allie Schumann and Kate Krugh each had 5 points serving hot streaks and Katie Jedele and Caroline Knight both had some great play at the net.

Grace Ratliff had several excellent passes.

7th grade gold
The 7th grade gold volleyball team had a rough day losing its match against the Adrian Maples.

Chelsea won just the final set 25-18 after losing the other sets 18-25 and 12-25. The team made a good effort but struggled to return the fireball serving of Adrian.

Highlights include Meghan Bareis making all her serves this match scoring many points for her team including 12 points in a row. Kyah Mitchell provided consistent passing and a nice hit and Libby Wacker had a nice pass over. Arianne Hunter and Rory Mickle also had serves over the net this match.

8th grade blue
Serves up as Chelsea 8th grade blue wins 25-1, 25-10, 25-14 beating Pinckney Wednesday.

Top servers were Kayla Munson with 29 points, Anna Reisner with 10 points, Annestyn Law with 5 points.

Mikaila Leonard stepped it up when there was an out of system pass and set to back row Kayla Muson for a kill. Sami Nye and Emma Leonard were the back row team getting their pass to setter.

Molly Sobiechowski had 2 kills at the net and so did Annestyn Law.

Adrija Skiotys set and kept the hitters strong.

Anna Reisner had back row attacks for the kill and side out.

8th grade gold
The 8th grade gold volleyball went up against a hard-serving Adrian team last night dropping the first set 25-10, winning the second 25-20 and losing the final set 25-17.

Highlights for the night were strong serving under pressure from Sierra Suntheimer, hits from Meg Boughton, Maddie Kay, Zoe Rezler, and Emilee Underwood.

A good back row save by Ella Samon, and aggressive play from Willow Rowe.  Even when they fell behind, the team continued to battle back and never gave up.
