Beach Middle School X-C teams travel to Bedford

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Laura and Loren Thorburn for the information in this story.)

The Beach Middle School boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Indian Creek Park, located in Bedford, on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Even with the hot weather Thursday, the boys had a number of season best times. However, the Chelsea boys came up short against a strong, deep Bedford team. Jake Brant led the team with an eighth place overall finish and a time of 13:48. Other outstanding improvements came from Luke Mourad, Nic Peal, Owen Van Assche, and Gavin Busch who all dropped 30 to 45 seconds each from their previous 2-mile times.

Also, Austin Tackett dropped three minutes from his season best, while Adam Holton dropped a minute plus from last week’s personal record.

The Chelsea girls lost a close one to the Bedford team (losing by a few points), which is a really outstanding performance given how good the Bedford girls have been over the years.

Christina Roberts led the girls team with a 1st place overall and was followed closely by her teammates Josie Jackson, Lauren Thompson and Addison Sinkwitts in 5th, 6th and 7th places all with season best times.

Lissa Krueger also improved her season best time by over a minute and a half.

It was a strong showing for the whole Bulldog Cross Country team.
