Beach Middle School XC Teams Compete in Mega Jamboree Invitational

On Saturday, Oct. 16, the Chelsea Beach Middle School cross country teams ran at the Mega Jamboree Invitational held at Huron Meadows Metropark on a nice cool fall morning.

There were a number of medal winners with some memorable performances on the 3200m course.

In the girls varsity race, Sam Bieber represented the team with a top 20 placing earning her a medal.

In the girls reserve race, Lissa Krueger led the team to a 3rd place finish out of 11 teams and won the reserve race with a time of 14:28.2 (a personal record – PR).

Medal winners for the girls reserve team were Mireille Hunter, Leighton Diesing, Aleeah Wells, Audrey Norton, and Sorina Kuehn.

Also, Aero Rexter lowered her best time by over a minute.

For the boys varsity race, Chelsea Beach placed 5th out of 15 teams. Leading the group was Beckett Boos with a top ten finish with a time of 11:40.07, a new PR.

Also, six of the boys earned medals. They were Wyeth Angus, AJ Smith, Linus Helzerman, Alex Martin, Owen Thorburn, and Miles Dell.

Also, Sam Clifton had a PR with a time of 13:27.3.

In the boys reserve race, the group placed 4th out of 9 teams. Liam Favre led the group with a top 20 placing (a medal winner) with a new PR of 14:00.2. Four other boys in the group also medaled. They were Jack Meehan, Leo Alafita, Bradley Dunn, Dylan Hodges.

Also, Matt Hurden had his second best time of the season finishing 78 out of 109 runners.
