Check out these upcoming events at Serendipity Books

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Michelle Tuplin for the information in this story.)

On April 11, there will be a special Midwest Literary Walk AfterHours Book Club meeting at Serendipity Books, 113 West Middle St from 7-8:30 p.m.

To prepare for the Midwest Literary Walk, (to be held downtown Chelsea on Saturday, April 28), participants are invited to read and discuss Books for Living by Will Schwalbe—author of the beloved New York Times best-selling The End of Your Life Book Club and Midwest Literary Walk guest.

A few free copies of the Books for Living (provided by The Chelsea District Library) are still available at Serendipity Books.

April 19 – Midwest Literary Walk Open Mic Night at Serendipity Books

To celebrate and launch the Midwest Literary Walk, join Chelsea District Library for an open mic night at Serendipity Books on Thursday, April 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Showcase your poetry, prose, or other creative work.

Call the library at (734) 475-8732 x 219 to reserve your 5-minute slot. There will be a limited number of sign-ups at the door. Experienced writers, poets, and high-school creative types are all welcome.

In partnership with Serendipity Books.

On May 16 from 7-8:30 p.m., the book store will host a regular AfterHours Book Club meeting will discuss The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North. This is a unique genre-bending read. Think literary science fiction reminiscent of The Time Traveler’s Wife. Kirkus Review described it as ‘Groundhog day on Red Bull’.

If it’s warm by then the group will meet in the alley.
