During its regularly scheduled monthly meeting, the Chelsea Area Garden Club (CAGC) presented a $5,000 donation to the Main Street Park Alliance (MSPA) in support of ongoing efforts to create and maintain Chelsea’s new downtown park, which will soon be named Holmes Family Park.
Club members welcomed Joe Ziolkowski, lead developer and member of the MSPA Board of Directors, as the monthly speaker who informed the membership of the park beginnings and development. The CAGC then presented him with a donation check to the MSPA that will help fund the Chelsea Parks Sustainability Fund for capital repairs and replacements.
Ziolkowski expressed appreciation for CAGC’s involvement and generosity.
“The Chelsea Area Garden Club has been a strong partner in caring for our public spaces,” Ziolkowski said. “This donation will support landscaping and maintenance projects that will help make the Holmes Family Park a welcoming place for the entire community.”
CAGC representatives noted that supporting local green spaces is central to their mission. The organization regularly participates in planting, maintenance, and educational activities throughout Chelsea, promoting environmental stewardship and community pride.
With the park’s upcoming naming to Holmes Family Park, both the CAGC and the MSPA emphasized that collaboration among community groups is essential to preserving and enhancing this cherished public space for years to come.
