Chelsea boys soccer score 12 goals in a busy week

The Chelsea Boys Varsity Soccer team came away from a 3-game week with two wins and a tie.

The team started out hosting South Lyon East on Monday evening and scored a season-high 7 goals while keeping a clean sheet. Senior Cullen Lindsey tallied 4 goals, Senior Josh Kowalski, junior David Thoms, and junior Noah French also found the back of the net.

On Tuesday, they traveled to Ypsilanti to face Lincoln. The battled to a 3-0 victory marking the 3rd shutout of the year of goalkeeper Logan Mahalak and the defense. Josh Kowalski scored his fifth goal of the season, Jason Moise finished a penalty kick, and Jacob Schultz scored the first goal of his high school career. 

Finally, on Thursday the team hosted Bedford at home. The team got out to a fast start with a goal from Cullen Lindsey in the opening minutes but found themselves down 2-1 at halftime. They battled back to a 2-2 tie when Josh Kowalski poked it home after a scramble in the box but were unable to break the deadlock, despite several dangerous chances. They are now 4-2-3 on the season.

JV Team

The JV team marked 3 consecutive victories on the week, with come from behind wins against both Lincoln and Bedford. Freshman Will Barhite broke the JV record for most goals with his 14th on the season. 

Chelsea will travel to Pinckney and Ypsilanti this week and try to continue their positive momentum.
