Chelsea Boys Track and Field downed Jackson 94-42 Tuesday afternoon at home.
“We came away with a comfortable victory in windy conditions Tuesday night,” coach Eric Swager said.
“I told the guys before the meet that attitude and preparation would be essential, and they responded well. This group gave solid efforts across the board, and although we still have a long way to go, there were some marked improvements.”
Highlights:
- Aiden McGuire had a lifetime best discus throw to win that event.
- Connell Alford won 2 events and was 2nd in another
- Jackie Dell won the 800 with a very even race
- Thomas Shemwell had a nice hurdle debut to finish second in that event.
- Regan Plank won the 100 meter in his first ever race in that event
- Colin Wacker claimed his first victory with a lifetime best high jump
- Other event winners were Parker Olk, Brandon Snyder, Ryan Scott, Drew Sherwood, and Ethan Kwaske.
Next Tuesday’s meet with Adrian should be a barn-burner, with both teams evenly matched.
“I look forward to bringing a full squad ready to get after it,” the coach said.
Swager would also like to thank all the fans and workers who came out on a blustery day to support the team.
