Coach Eric Swager called the boys track and field team’s win of Friday’s Chelsea Relays “a true team effort that produced a comfortable win in an eight team field.”

He said the Bulldogs “got contributions across the board from different facets as the team scored an impressive 96 points.”

  • Our sprint squad was once again dominant, winning the 400, 800, and 1600 relays. “These guys are the core of our success this season, and they continue to produce big points,” Swager said.
  • The distance guys also had a great day, winning the DMR and 3200 relays, and finishing runner up in the 4 x 3200 event.
  • The throwers rebounded from a marginal showing on Tuesday to win the shot put and take runner up medals in the discus.
  • Brian O’ Toole’s 11’6″ pole vault was the highlight of the remaining events, and some of the young guys keep showing improvement.

Our final home meet happens today as the Bulldogs host a very fast Ypsilanti squad. Come on down and see some of the best sprint action in the state. Events start at 4:30 p.m.

“I would like to thank all the parents and volunteers that helped in any way to make the Chelsea Relays a success,” Swager said, adding, “Your attitude and flexibility was amazing.”
