Chelsea city clerk to perform accuracy test of computer used for ballots on July 27

Chelsea City Clerk Terri Royal will perform a public accuracy test of the computer that will tabulate the ballots for the upcoming Aug. 7 presidential primary on Friday, July 27 at 4 p.m.

The test will take place in the conference room of the Chelsea City Offices, 305 S. Main St. and anyone is welcome to watch what happens.

On Aug. 7, the polls will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.  for the city’s 2,726 registered voters who vote at the Washington Street Education Center cafeteria at 500 Washington St.

Candidates on the ballot are running for the following offices.
United States Senator
Representative in Congress
Representative in State Legislature
Prosecuting Attorney
Sheriff
Clerk/Register of Deeds
Treasurer
Water Resource Commissioner
County Commissioner
(non-partisan) Judge of Circuit Court – 22 District
Precinct Delegates

In case you didn’t know, Chelsea has two voting precincts and residents from both of them vote in the same location. Here’s Chelsea voting precincts of how they break down.

Precinct 1 has 1,593 registered voters and they live east of M-52 and here’s what they’ll see on the Precinct 1 ballot.

There are 1,133 registered voters in Precinct 2, and they live west of M-52. Here’s what they’ll see on the Precinct 2 ballot.
