Chelsea Community Fair: Chelsea Athletic Boosters seeking volunteers for ticket booths, parking

File photo. Fun on the fair rides provided by Mid-America Shows.

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Gretchen Steele for the information in this story.)

Each year, the Chelsea Athletic Boosters (CAB) assist the Chelsea Community Fair board by manning the ticket booths and parking cars.

This year, they are looking for more volunteers.

Volunteering involves a few hours work and you receive a free T-shirt and all the water you can drink. In turn, the fair board gives the Chelsea Athletic Boosters a percentage of the gate, which is used to support athletic programs on the middle school and high school level. You can sign up below.

In the 2018-19 school year, Among the things the Chelsea Athletic Boosters in the 2018-2019 school year were the middle school 2-team policy by defraying the costs for the second team that the school district does not cover.

Among the other things that CAB funded or help support were trainer basic supplies, the high school summer weight-lifting program, the wrestling team wall clock, and the cost of a new wrestling mat.

In addition, CAB supported the boys and girls golf launch monitor, the boys soccer training and game balls as well as the cost of the girls soccer uniforms.

The baseball team had the cost of bullpen padding defrayed, and new middle school basketballs were purchased.

CAB paid for a fall coaching retreat for all club and varsity coaches, new menus at the high school gym and track concession stands, and two student athlete college scholarships.
