This year’s goat show at the Chelsea Community Fair was more about quality than quantity.
A handful of participants captured all of the prizes at the Wednesday, Aug. 22 event.
Faith Olberg and her pygmy goat won the overall grand champion, and Shelby Williams and her boer goat won the grand champion for the “other” category.
Williams also won grand champion market, and Grace Willis took home the reserve champion market goat. Market goats must be owned by the exhibitor and must be born after Jan.1 of the current fair year.
Williams also won the senior showmanship class, as well as the doe kid, aged doe and buckling classes.
Willis also won top honor for dairy goat while Olberg won pygmy goat and mother and daughter goat awards.
The other prize winner was Bridgette Kamara for junior showmanship and for wether pet.
The superintendents are Aly and Sue Rodgers.
