Chelsea Education Foundation gala sold out, but you can still support the cause

You can still buy raffle tickets for this necklace at Chelsea Pharmacy or from a Chelsea Education Foundation board member.

The Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) annual gala on Monday, March 12, is already a sell-out, but you can still support the cause.

Raffle tickets are still available for a a sterling silver, super stud, crystal pendant designed by Stephen Webster with gray cat’s eye and clear quartz crystal haze, donated by Lewis Jewelers. Tickets are available at the Chelsea Pharmacy or from a current CEF board member for $10 per ticket.

This year, the gala is taking place at the Common Grill and the focus of the night is to engage the community in support of innovative and enriching programs within the Chelsea School District via support of the CEF and its mission.

Since 1998, the CEF has raised funds and directed more than $400,000 to finance more than 500 grants to educators.

Programs funded include the Musical Cultural Exchange, #Whyyoumatter, Science Olympiad, 8th grade Washington DC trip, 6th grade camp, art museum trips and the Native American Experience.  

The night will consist of a plated dinner prepared by award-winning Chef Craig Common and staff, a raffle, and musical entertainment from the Chelsea High School Chamber Choir and string quartet from the Chelsea High School Chamber Orchestra.

The highlight of the night will be a live auction featuring 15 items/packages ranging from a week in Steamboat Springs, Colo., to a BBQ for 40 people courtesy of Smokehouse 52.

The signature piece of the auction is pearl white electric guitar authentically autographed by the members of the Rolling Stones: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman.

CEF is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides funding for a wide spectrum of educational activities to benefit the residents of Chelsea. Funds raised through endowments and events are distributed by the CEF board and managed by local investment professionals. The non-profit Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan also assists in maximizing the foundations investments.
