Last Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club heard from Chelsea Community Fair President Eric McCalla.
He reported that last year was the fourth best attended fair of all time. 2021 was the best year ever, when so many folks wanted to get out after COVID.
The fair board will soon put together a 5-year plan for the fairgrounds. But this year’s improvement projects include paving sections of the fairgrounds, repairing the barns where needed, and introducing digital ticketing and the use of credit cards as a payment option.
This year, the fair will stage concerts on May 30-31 with entertainment provider County Boots and Bands. Also, a concert is planned for Sunday, Aug. 17, the first day of fair week. They are also exploring having Wi-Fi available on the fairgrounds during fair week.
Kiwanis is pleased to support Chelsea Community Fair. We’ve been working together since 1937.
