Chelsea Kiwanis gearing up for busy summer

Last Monday, the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Auxiliary held its annual meeting in the hospital dining room, so Chelsea Kiwanis held an informal get-together at the Valiant Bar and Grill. We were treated like family, and considering the extensive menu offerings, everyone picked their favorite meal.

On Memorial Day, club members will honor those men and women who died while serving in our country’s military. There will be no meeting.

Kiwanis President Marianne Knox will represent the club for the presentation of the Kiwanis scholarships at Chelsea High School Class Night on May 31.

On Friday, June 7, the Kiwanis food concession trailer will open for the first time this year. Members will be on hand for the Ice Cream Social at South Meadows Elementary. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Parent Teacher Organization in Chelsea.

Chelsea Kiwanis meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to enjoy our speakers and learn about Kiwanis.
