Serendipity Books’ Summer Bookmark Design Contest will launched on Independent Bookstore Day, April 27, and will run through Memorial Day.
Children aged 5-13 years are invited to design a summertime bookmark for Serendipity Books.
Once all the designs are received, Serendipity Books will display the designs in the bookstore’s windows. One winner will be selected, the design will be professionally printed, and the bookmarks will be handed to customers all summer long.
Michelle Tuplin, the owner of Serendipity Books describes the event this way in a press release.
“Our bookmark design competition is a wonderful way to celebrate our community and engage lots of children, inviting them to think about reading while honing their art skills,” she said, adding, “Seeing the excited faces peering at the designs in the window and then one excited winner opening the box of professionally printed bookmarks is just magical.”
Entry forms are available at the Chelsea District Library, the media centers in Chelsea schools, and Serendipity Books.
