Last Monday, Chelsea Kiwanis heard from Chelsea Scout Troop 425. This year, the troop will celebrate 100 years of service to the Chelsea community. That’s 100 years of building character, leadership, self-confidence, citizenship, and teamwork skills.
Scouts were busy this past year with many activities. From marching in Chelsea’s Memorial Day Parade, to installing over 200 American flags in the community, scouts practiced citizenship.
Scouts worked on orienteering, backpacking, and camping, earning merit badges to rise in rank. The troop has had many Eagle Scouts over the years.
Other fun activities included participating in the Pinewood Derby and partnering with Troop 476.
Kiwanis appreciates both troops selling popcorn and drinks in the main arena stands every year during the Chelsea Community Fair. We are happy to support their efforts.
Please join Chelsea High School’s Key Club members and Kiwanis members for the Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 at Chelsea Retirement Community front lawn. Pictures with the Easter bunny at 9:30. The hunt begins at 10 a.m. for three age groups. There is no charge.
