(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)
Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club we will hear from fellow Kiwanian and Chelsea School District Assistant Superintendent Marcus Kaemming. He will speak about the upcoming bond proposal to benefit schools.
Last Monday, Kiwanis members gathered to review the 2019-2020 budget. The club raises about $60,000 each year, much of it from operation of our food concession trailer. Funds are then disbursed to worthy groups in Chelsea, especially those benefiting children.
After the review, the membership approved the budget.
On Monday, club officers and directors will be installed. Conducting the installation will be Michigan District of Kiwanis Lt. Governor Charlie Phibbs. The club will be led by President John Knox.
Other officers are President Elect Larry Memmer, Secretary Ray Kemner, Treasurer Bob Milbrodt, and Past President Marianne Knox.
Directors are Lindsay Baker, Annette Bragalone, Nancy Memmer, Gene Miller, Jim Randolph, and Dave Schaible.
Chelsea Kiwanis meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.
Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to enjoy our speakers and learn about Kiwanis.
