Imagine driving into Chelsea and seeing lots and lots of American flags lining the streets, billowing in the wind.
You can help make that happen by participating in the Chelsea Lions Club flag fundraiser. And other than purchasing a subscription, you don’t have to do a thing because the Lions will do it for you
Called, appropriately, Chelsea Lions Flag Day, and, it’s a chance for Chelsea residents to help line the city’s streets with Old Glory on the five major flag holidays — Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4, Labor Day and Veterans Day.
A yearly subscription is $40 and the flags remain the property of the Lions Club. But, if you refer a neighbor and they buy a yearly subscription, you’ll get $5 off your following year’s subscription.
The 3 by 5 flags will go up 3-4 days before the holiday and be taken down 3-4 days afterward.
