Chelsea looking for Board of Review members

Chelsea logoThe City of Chelsea is accepting applications for Board of Review members, which is a three-member board supported by the city assessor that hears and determines appeals of property assessments in sessions that begin each year in March.

Position requirements include high school education or higher, and some background and general understanding of real estate, building and construction activities. A member must be a current Chelsea resident.

Members must be available for required Board of Review meeting dates – the 3rd Tuesday in July, the 2nd Tuesday in December, and two days each week the first and third weeks of March.

Members will learn the process of appealing local tax assessments and will need to be comfortable communicating this process clearly and respectfully to local business owners and residents.

Members receive a small stipend for all meetings attended.
