Chelsea Planning Commission unanimously approves IHA final site plan

By Lisa Carolin

A final site plan for the IHA (Integrated Health Associates) Chelsea Medical Center was unanimously approved by the Chelsea Planning Commission at its Oct. 20 meeting, which was held via Zoom.

The IHA center is proposed to be a 17,598 square foot medical office located at 14288 E. Old US-12, adjacent to St. Mary of Chelsea Catholic Church, which will share a drive with the IHA parking lot. The planning commission requested design features that are more welcoming with added landscaping.

In other action, the planning commission approved a request to modify parking at the site of Silver Maples Deer Ridge Villas, located at 775 S. Main St. in Chelsea.

Although the final site plan was previously approved by the commission, the request from Washtenaw Engineering was made for the purpose of relocating three parking spaces to remove the possibility of parking directly in front of a unit.

The Silver Maples Deer Ridge Villas will include 16 new villa units and a small maintenance garage.

Planning Commission members also agreed to change their next voting meeting from Nov. 17 to Tuesday, Nov.10 at 7 p.m.
