The annual Chelsea Senior Center holiday lunch drew close to 225 people as well as a visit from Santa Claus on Friday, Dec. 20.

Participants included dozens of members of the community, like MC Gary Munce, Johnny Mitchell and his family, who sponsored the luncheon, many celebrity servers, and music duo Take Note.

Guest Nadine Bullard said, “I’m here for the companionship.”

Guest Joe Weber said, “I’m here for the food.”

Roast beef, green beans, potatoes, rolls, salad, and cake comprised the holiday meal.

“It’s a family here,” said Senior Center Executive Director Bill O’Reilly. “It’s like a reunion because people have known each other for so many years.”

MC Munce told the crowd, “There is no place that I would rather be than right here.”

After Santa gave out candy canes, he asked everyone to join him in singing “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Silent Night”, and that was followed by the meal.
