Chelsea boys soccer had two hard fought games on Thursday night.
The varsity squad had a strong showing against a visiting Ypsilanti team.
Bulldog defenders held Ypsi to 2 shots on goal while the offense tallied 6 goals in a shutout effort.
After the game, Coach Jordan Miller said, “The team is building in a really positive direction. Ypsi has some great players and we worked very effectively as a team to shut them down in our defensive half and connect to make scoring chances in theirs. I am proud of how the boys played smart soccer with high intensity.” Chelsea is in a position to compete for the league championship and has big games next week.
The JV team came up a bit short against Tecumseh. Despite near-constant pressure applied by our Bulldog offense in the second half, they could not erase a first half deficit of 2 goals.
The defense came alive in the second half and allowed the offense to put 8 shots on goal but none would find the net before the final whistle.
Please come out to support the team against rival Dexter at home Sept. 26. JV kickoff at 4 and varsity at 5:30.
