Chelsea swim and dive downs Adrian, 100-77

The Chelsea High School swim and dive team traveled to Adrian last week for a White Division showdown and swam a competitive meet to come away with the 100-77 win.

“We shook up the lineup tonight to put some guys in different spots than normal,” said head coach Andrew Thomson.  The Bulldogs won 7 of 12 events on the way to victory.

The team of Landen Collins, Jaron Iannelli, Stephen Levine and Parker Olk led off the meet in the 200 medley relay by taking the top spot (1:56.26) and the team of Owen Critchfield, Bram Hartsuff, Brennan Bagbey and Dominik Green finished third (2:20.22).  Zander Hartsuff led the field in the 200 free (1:58.81) with Niko Fannin in third (2:06.48).

Parker Olk was the only Bulldog represented in the 200 IM, and won that event as well (2:17.08).

Bram Hartsuff was runner up in the 50 freestyle (29.81), with Tuan Le taking fifth (41.50) and Gabe Muckle sixth (43.10).  The Bulldogs swept the diving event, with Collins finishing first (147.95 points) and AJ Mitchell second (123.80).

Levine was the top dog in the 100 butterfly (1:06.76) with Iannelli touching third (1:17.59).

In the 100 freestyle, Fannin finished runner-up (57.37) with Green right behind in third (59.37) and Bagbey in sixth (1:13.49).

Critchfield posted a big time drop in the 500 freestyle to finish runner-up (6:27), with teammate Bram Hartsuff right behind in third (6:30.90).

The 200 freestyle relay team of Olk, Green, Burke, and Muckle took second (2:00.54), with Fannin, Bagbey, Bram Hartsuff, and Mitchell right behind them in third (2:00.67), and Iannelli, Levine, Critchfield, and Le in fourth place (2:05.89).

Collins won the 100 backstroke (1:02.55) with Zander Hartsuff flying in as runner-up (1:04.19).  Burke led the Bulldogs in the 100 breaststroke, taking second place (1:28.13), while Levine touched third (1:33.58) and Bagbey narrowly in fourth (1:33.83).

The meet wrapped up with the 400 freestyle relay team of Fannin, Zander Hartsuff, Olk and Collins taking the top spot (3:42.03) and the runner-up spot went to the relay team of Critchfield, Green, Iannelli, and Burke (4:13.49).

The Bulldogs welcome Dexter to the Cameron Pool at Beach Middle School on Thursday, Feb. 6 for its next dual meet.
