Catherine McClure of Chelsea, was recently appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to the State Board of Ethics.
A retired attorney, she serves on the American Bar Association Section on State and Local Government Committee on Ethics.
In addition, she served as legal counsel and policy analyst for the Michigan Senate Democratic Caucus. McClure earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate from the University of California – Berkley.
McClure is reappointed to represent Democrats, for a term commencing May 25, 2023, and expiring Feb. 7, 2027.
The State Board of Ethics has jurisdiction to determine the ethical conduct of classified or unclassified state employees, and public officers of the executive branch of Michigan state government who are appointed by the governor or another executive department official.
This appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
