Lisa Olszewski, a chiropractor who lives and practices in Chelsea, was recently elected vice president of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors (MAC), the largest organization for chiropractors in the state.

Her term will begin Jan. 1 and run through Dec. 31, 2020.

Olszewski served the past two years as Director of Internal Affairs. She has represented chiropractors in Washtenaw, Ingham, Jackson, Hillsdale, Livingston, and Lenawee counties on the Board of Directors since 2010.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be chosen by the membership to serve in a prominent leadership position for this incredible organization,” said Olszewski. “I’m ready to stand up for chiropractors, our patients, and health care consumers throughout Michigan.”

In 2013, in an historic vote of the Board of Directors, Olszewski, the winner of the 2012 “Rising Star Award” for “stepping above and beyond for the chiropractic profession,” became the first woman to serve on the MAC Executive Committee with her election to the position of Director of Financial Affairs.

In the years since, she has become a valued member of the leadership team, earning such accolades as the MAC’s “Extraordinary Impact Award,” given “in appreciation for being a veracious chiropractic advocate, mentor, and leader.”

Olszewski is also active in national chiropractic organizations. Earlier this year, she was elected president of the League of Chiropractic Women, an organization whose mission is to inspire and support women in chiropractic to thrive while advancing the principles and practice of chiropractic.

As a chiropractic student, Olszewski was the first student from Palmer College of Chiropractic ever elected as National Chairperson of the Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA). She was an active leader within numerous clubs, classes, and organizations, and she has received various national awards demonstrating her commitment to excellence, including the 2015 Distinguished Service Award from the International Chiropractors Association and the 2002 Member of the Year Award from SACA.

“Dr. Olszewski brings a wide range of skills and an intense enthusiasm for chiropractic and the issues facing chiropractors and their patients,” said MAC Executive Director Kristine Dowell. “I look forward to working with her over the next two years.”
