Chelsea’s Margaret Paulauski receives certification of added qualifications

Margaret Paulauski, a Chelsea resident and University of Michigan physician assistant,  recently received a Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

She is one of only 108 PAs to earn this distinction.

Paulauski was awarded a CAQ in orthopedic surgery, and she is one of only 16 certified PAs in Michigan to earn this award. In fact, only 530 PAs are certified nationally in orthopedic surgery.

Certified PAs are able to take patient histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, assist in surgery, perform a variety of procedures and write prescriptions.
