Amy Samida has spent most of her life working with dogs.
“I’m a former licensed veterinary technician, groomer, and trainer, specializing in dogs with aggression issues,” said Samida. “I’ve competed in many dog sports, including conformation, lure coursing, and obedience, and owned a dog day care and boarding facility for 10 years in Ann Arbor, closing when a developer bought the property.”
When Samida moved to the Chelsea area, she realized both the need for a boarding facility for small dogs as well as her love for boarding dogs, and she created Little Bean Lodge just for small dogs.
The facility offers double fencing outside and cozy beds and a cuddle corner for lap sitting indoors.
“For dogs who like play time, our play area has a tunnel, ramps, ball pit, and more,” said Samida. “Less social dogs have free time on their own, and no other dogs allowed. On-leash nature walks are available, as well as board and train for basic manners, pre-check out baths, pick-up and drop-off, and we welcome dogs with special medical needs or behavioral issues.”
She describes Little Bean Lodge as prioritizing for customer service and competent care as well as practicing compassionate handling techniques.

Little Bean Lodge hosts no more than six dogs at a time to be able to give plenty of time and attention to each dog.
Samida looks forward to getting involved in hosting events to raise money for dogs in need as someone who has rescued and fostered many dogs.
“I hope everyone who comes inside will find a happy place for both their dogs and themselves so they can relax while away, knowing their little bean is safe, well cared for, and as happy as they can be while away from home because every dog lover knows just how hard it is to leave their friend behind when they go,” said Samida.
