It has been five years since Todd Dziobak, owner of Secret Crisis Comics, achieved a lifelong dream. That’s when he became the owner of the Chelsea comic shop that has turned into a, “perfect location to try this beautiful experiment,” said Dziobak.

He’s been collecting comics for 30 years and is also a fan of board games, both of which are sold at Secret Crisis Comics.

“Please stop in to see what else we offer besides comics,” said Dziobak. “We also carry new books, offer a subscription service, and carry back issues, and we are also very heavy into board games. We have a pretty amazing selection of board games that cut across many play styles.”

One of the changes the shop has made is to carry hockey cards as well as focusing on new card games like Disney’s Lorcana and the upcoming Star Wars card game. Dziobak also plans to accelerate the shop’s comic book back issue bins.

He is proud of the store’s friendly staff and dedication to customer service.

“We understand that everyone must start at some point,” said Dziobak. “We want to help people who may not be super familiar with comics, games or Magic the Gathering (the world’s first trading card game).”

What is it that makes Chelsea the perfect place for Secret Crisis Comics?

“The people,” said Dziobak. “The citizens of this area are amazing. Chelsea is great but we also get a number of visitors from Grass Lake, Manchester, Dexter, Stockbridge, and more, and they too are wonderful. The people of this area are very kind and genuinely want to see local businesses succeed and that is simply amazing.”
