Nici Forner has been working as a hair stylist in Chelsea for 18 years and decided it was time to open her own salon in March of 2022. It’s called Studio One Thirty Four and is located at 134 West Middle St. in Chelsea.
“I had the pleasure of working as a stylist in other salons in Chelsea and felt like I was ready for something bigger,” said Forner. “I loved the idea of opening and having my own salon where I could express my ideas and creativity.”
It’s important to Forner to keep up to date with current trends and continued education. Studio One Thirty Four offers a comfortable and modern atmosphere.
She expanded her team last year to include an additional stylist, and hopes to add another stylist to the team in 2024.
Forner says that Chelsea is the perfect place for Studio One Thirty Four.
“The downtown area of Chelsea is such a great location surrounded by so many great shops and restaurants,” she said. “I love the feel of the community of Chelsea and the chamber makes it such a great place to own a business. I also personally know a lot of the stylists that work and own salons in Chelsea and I have to say I’m in good company. They’re great stylists and business owners.”
