Eli Zemper, founder of the Chelsea-based mobile clay art studio Curiouser Clay, took a leap of faith when she left her teaching career behind to become an entrepreneur in 2022.
Curiouser Clay encourages play and experimentation while continuing to address the lack of arts programming in rural spaces by conducting creative workshops, providing all necessary materials to create beautiful artwork – thanks in part to a $15,000 grant from the Olga Loizon Memorial Foundation.
On May 20, Eli was honored by the Foundation as a 2025 grant recipient at the second annual Foundation celebration. “The Foundation distributed more than $45,000 to help women entrepreneurs follow in the footsteps of the late Olga’s Kitchen founder Olga Loizon as they build their businesses in Michigan.”
