Feb. 16: ‘The Cat’s Pajamas’ at Tecumseh Center for the Arts

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Kelly Jo Gilmore for the information in this story.)

(Publisher’s note: I realize this is not taking place in Chelsea but I thought it was an event readers might like to know about. Let me know your thoughts about including an occasional out of town event.)

Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is welcoming The Cat’s Pajamas as part of its 2018-2019 National Touring Season. With no additional instruments other than their voices, The Cat’s Pajamas captivates audiences with their high energy, charming personalities, and impressive showmanship.

The Cat’s Pajamas are 5 high energy singers who create all the sounds of a band using only their voices.  The group was formed in 2005 by Brian Skinner whose passion and drive for performing and music production is the heartbeat (and drum beat) of The Cat’s Pajamas.

The original members had previously worked together in college groups at The University of Wisconsin such as the Wisconsin Singers and a cappella groups the MadHatters and Redefined.

After their first contract in college and original demo, The Cat’s Pajamas were hired as guest entertainers by Norwegian Cruise Lines where they performed 40 weeks a year for three years, and quickly became their highest rated act.

They were also asked to sing as part of Oprah’s Cruise of a Lifetime.

Come sing and dance the night away with The Cat’s Pajamas at Tecumseh Center for the Arts on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Both concessions and the TCA bar will begin serving at 6:30 pm.

Beer and wine are available.

Sponsored in part by Martin’s Home Center and WLEN 103.9 FM, tickets are $25 for adults and $23 for seniors, youth and military members.

Tickets can be purchased by phone at 517-423-6617, at the box office located at 400 N. Maumee St., Tecumseh or on-line at www.thetca.org.

  1. I think it’s totally appropriate. On a nice date to come see is not far to go to. And once you seen the play at the purple rose or the Dexter Playhouse, it would be fun to travel to another town that is not very far away
