The 9th annual Festival of Tables will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 and will add color and cheer to our Michigan winter.

This popular event is always a crowd pleaser.

Tickets are $25, which includes a delicious lunch catered by Wesley’s Catering.  Doors open at 11 a.m. and attendees will have a chance to view 20 creatively decorated tables and vote for their favorite. Of course, as a fundraiser, additional voting tickets may be purchased to “stuff the ballot box”.

The event will be held at the Chelsea Senior Center, WSEC Cafeteria, 512 Washington St. Tickets for the Saturday event are available starting Jan.13 at the Chelsea Senior Center.

Be sure to purchase your tickets early because this annual event sells out.

Once again, a Friday evening Preview Event will be available on Feb. 21 from 5-7 p.m. for those unable to attend on Saturday or those who want more time to study all the creative details of each table.

The preview event is open to the public and great for all ages. For only $1 per person at the door, come enjoy the Friday Preview Event with the whole family.

A silent auction will also occur beginning at 5 p.m. at the Preview Event and close at noon on Saturday. Several items and beautiful creations from the community will be available for bid. No need to purchase a ticket to participate in silent auction.

All proceeds from the event will support the Chelsea Senior Center (CSC).  According to Gary Munce, CSC board president and M.C. of the event, “This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to come together and lend a helping hand to our friends and neighbors.”

There is a diverse lineup of local groups, businesses, and residents decorating tables with themes such as “Arts & Architecture”, “Peacock-tail Party”, “Fly Me to the Moon”, and “Fairy Garden” to name a few.  Among those represented this year will be returning participants Chelsea District Library, Material Girls, Adult Learners Institute, Gail Geer Calligraphy, Jewelry Set in Stone, Chelsea Area Garden Club, C.A.D.D.Y. Quilters, and the CSC Crafters.  Some of the newcomers this year include Chelsea Community Preschool, St. Barnabas Church, and Chelsea Area Players.

The Chelsea Senior Center is a 501(c) 3 non-profit. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and well-being of area seniors and their families.

For more information about the Festival of Tables event please call (734) 475-9242 or email [email protected].

Tickets are available for purchase at the center located in the Washington Street Education Center (WSEC) campus at 512 E. Washington St.

Office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
