The Yellow Door farm-to-table fundraising initiative is hosting a special benefit event next Monday, Feb. 24, from 5-7 p.m. at the Chelsea Alehouse for the Caselli family.
Tony Caselli, the former director at the Purple Rose Theatre, is hospitalized and recovering from a very serious illness. His wife, Jeannie, is a teacher in the Chelsea District Schools and they have two children in the schools, according to information about the benefit.
Guest chef for the event is Marie Ann Fody of Zou Zou’s Cafe.
Adults are asked to donate a minimum $15 per entrée, $10 for students with ID and $5 for younger kids. All net proceeds benefit the Caselli family to help with medical costs.
The early evening event will be casual and informal with a menu of Zou Zou’s famous soups, Zingerman’s bread, salad courtesy of Tantre Farms and beverages.
Special thanks to Chris and Aubrey Martinson of the Chelsea Alehouse and their generous support again by donating the use of their space.
“This is our first dinner event and our first Monday date,” says Yellow Door organizer Jane Pacheco. “We are keeping it simple and easy, and hope people will come out in force to help the Caselli family as they deal with some challenging times.”
Here is the menu;
1) Two soup options featuring Tantre Farm vegetables and Ernst Farm Pork Sausage: Roasted Cabocha Squash Soup (Vegetarian) or Potato, Kale, and Sausage Soup
2) Tantre Farm Watermelon Radish Slaw
3) Assorted Zingerman’s Bread
Yellow Door’s most recent benefit on New Year’s Eve morning raised $5,000 for At Risk Youth in the Chelsea School District. For more information about Yellow Door click here or here.
