Ugly Dog Distillery (and of course, its popular and handsome mascot, Ruger), will be one of several Chelsea area businesses featured on the PBS TV show “Under the Radar Michigan” on Saturday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m.

“The 30-minute, weekly program features many inspirational, but little known places and people statewide,” according to information about the show.

“Under the Radar Michigan” is a 30-minute weekly program that airs throughout the Midwest and Canada and is hosted by Tom Daldin, an Emmy award winning actor and writer.

It’s expected that Common Grill, Back to the Roots and Chelsea Milling Company will also be featured on the same show. Perhaps even Purple Rose Theatre Company.

Ugly Dog has now topped 900 locations in Michigan said Gordy Mercade, sales and marketing for the distillery in Dexter Township.

Co-owners Jon Dyer and Dewey Winkle are now producing five products, including raspberry and bacon vodka, Mercade said, adding that the business is approaching its third anniversary.

The show will air on Saturday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. and on Wednesday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. on Direct TV on Channel 56 and on April 2 at 9:30 p.m. and on April 3 at 3:30 a.m. on Comcast – Channel 288.
