(Chelsea Update would like to thank Amy Heydlauff for this column.)
During the winter, the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) held a pre-diabetes workshop in partnership with the Chelsea-Area Wellness Foundation.
And, the workshop went so well, NKFM is once again partnering with the CWF to offer a free workshop, this time to area residents who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
The NKFM has a program that is uniquely designed for participants who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The Diabetes-PATH (Personal Action Toward Health) workshop is a six week workshop designed to provide the skills and tools needed by people with type 2 diabetes. They would like to offer the program to anyone in our five healthy towns, and beyond, who qualifies.
The workshop will take place in Dexter from on Wednesdays, June 5 – July 17 from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Dexter Wellness Center, 2810 Baker Rd.
If you or someone you know has been told by a doctor “you have type 2 diabetes” you or they can register for the Diabetes-
PATH classes.
