In case you’ve seen these trucks in the area, here’s what’s going on

Great Lakes Geophysical is performing seismic testing on North Territorial Road as well as on Waters Road related to oil and gas exploration.

Seismic testing is used to discover natural gas and oil and what’s being used locally are what’s known as vibrator trucks, which crawl along rural roads and send seismic waves into the surrounding ground to look for geologic formations under fields, farms and homes, according to one source.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission has given them permission to work on weekends as long as they don’t use the vibratory truck before noon on Sundays.

  1. Any attempt at fracking in this area will be met with national and international physical -resistance. Sandra A. Smith, Berkeley, CA.

  2. After Great Lakes Geophysical has finished processing
their data, I’d like to see a follow up article about what
    they found.

They also tested about a mile west on Roe Road at the
    same time.
