Jan. 23: Chelsea Chamber of Commerce hosts two events, one day

Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce logoJoin the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 8:30 a.m. in the McKune Room at the Chelsea District Library for a program titled “Personal Property Tax Changes.”

Small business owners may be eligible for exemption from personal property taxes for the 2014 tax year under recent State of Michigan legislation.

An affidavit (Michigan Department of Treasury Form 5076) must be filed with your local assessor no later than Feb. 10 to determine eligibility. The local assessor will include this form with your personal property statements in January.

The Chamber will also be hosting this coffee hour with the local tax assessor to provide more information and answer questions from the local business community.

Thursday evening, there will be a Business After Hours and Open House from 5-7 p.m. in the Palmer Business Center, hosted by Palmer Auto Service and the chamber.

Stop in for networking, refreshments, a short tour of the Palmer Auto Repair Shop and the see the new offices of your Chamber of Commerce, pick up some information or leave your business cards, and brochures.

Palmer Auto Service and the chamber offices are located at 222 South Main St.
