The Chelsea House Orchestra (CHO) will hold its annual Hometown Show on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Chelsea High School Auditorium, and tickets are on sale now.

CHO is known throughout the region for their unique, high-energy performances. While a majority of their music is derived from traditional Celtic sources, their sound is distinctly their own. It is what they like to call, “Celtic with a Kick!” Their music is Scottish and Irish, with other folk music-inspired elements, and even a little rock and roll.

CHO is comprised of 26 students currently enrolled in one of Chelsea High School’s music programs.

Now in its 18th year, and under the direction of its founder, Jed Fritzemeier, CHO continues to grow in popularity. The group was selected to perform at the 2014 national conference of the American String Teachers Association in Louisville, Kentucky and just returned from their second performance in Chicago at the Chicago Scots’ Feast of the Haggis. They also perform annually at Highland Festivals in Alma, Michigan and Edinboro, Pennsylvania.

This year they will return to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in North Carolina, among many other events.

The CHO Hometown Show will bring these performers back to their home stage at Chelsea High School. This hugely popular show will be followed by an afterglow in the commons.

Tickets for this Jan. 31 performance are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and are available at Chelsea Pharmacy and at the door the night of the show, or by emailing [email protected].
