Mykala Mortgage has been in Chelsea since 2009 and specializes in residential mortgages. It is located downtown at 134 W. Middle St. and is owned by Jon Mykala.
Mykala says his company takes a different approach than many other mortgage lenders.
“Because my background is in financial planning, I ‘re-phrased’ my business to mortgage planning,” he said. “We really take an in-depth look at our clients’ goals to make sure that the home loan they are taking out best suits their overall future plans.”
That philosophy is something Mykala applies to all clients including first-time buyers, move up buyers, as well as those looking to purchase a second home or build a new home.
“As a small local bank, we are able to deliver personal, hands-on attention where they can call us direct or even stop into our office,” said Mykala. “We get to know them on a personal level that doesn’t just end once they close on their loan.”
Mykala Mortgage uses cutting edge technology and offers services such as online applications, express pay online for mortgage payments, and the ability for Mykala to shop for interest rates for clients.
He has been a mortgage banker for 25 years and moved to Chelsea in 1996 with his wife Michelle, a Chelsea High School graduate, as well as their three children.

His son, Spencer, owns the local Commando Krav Maga studio, American Warriors Academy, where Mykala is an instructor. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, working on family property, and weekend trips up north.
As far as goals for Mykala Mortgage go, he says, “We want our clients to walk away from the loan closing table saying that we provided them with the easiest, most stress free loan process possible.”
