July 19: Register for Senior Market Bucks, Senior Project Fresh at Chelsea Senior Center

Both Senior Market Bucks and Senior Project Fresh are happening this summer at the Chelsea Farmers Markets.

A registration event for both programs will take place Tuesday, July 19, from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm at the Chelsea Senior Center, 512 Washington St.

Coupon booklets will be available while supplies last.

For both programs, you must be a Washtenaw County resident and 60 years of age or older.

Senior Market Bucks: no income requirement. Coupons can be used on Michigan-grown foods, including fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheese, yogurt, meat, poultry, fish and honey. Foods not mentioned in the above list are not eligible. Non-food items cannot be purchased with Senior Market Bucks. No change is permitted. As in previous years, booklets in the summer contain 10 coupons, each coupon worth $1.

Senior Project Fresh: income qualifying individuals can get $25 in Senior Project Fresh coupons to buy locally-grown fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets.
