(Chelsea Update would like to thank Kevin Frahm and Global Marketplace for the photo and information in this story.)

Join the Chelsea Community in the fun art project July 26-28 beginning at 9 a.m.

Chalk Mandala outlines will be chalked on the alley behind Breathe Yoga and next to the Global Marketplace.

The community is invited to join in and color in/add on to these colorful designs.

Sidewalk chalk will be available in the alley and you are invited to come back throughout the weekend to see how they grow and change.

The word “mandala” is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated to mean “circle,” a mandala is far more than a simple shape. It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself – a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.
