Kim-Lan Trinh joins United Methodist Retirement Communities Foundation

The United Methodist Retirement Communities, Inc. (UMRC) Foundation, the fundraising and charitable arm of UMRC, announced today Kim-Lan Trinh has joined as director of planned giving and major gifts.

In her new role, Trinh will be responsible for assisting the foundation’s donors with estate planning and helping to strategically grow the Foundation.

Trinh brings more than two decades of work experience in finance, strategic planning and fundraising programs to UMRC. She most recently served as the associate director of development at the Michigan Opera Theatre where she was responsible for its annual fund, endowment, major gifts and planned giving programs. Her professional career also includes 15 years at Daimler Chrysler Corporation both as a finance executive in international finance and as an administrator of the Chrysler Foundation.

She earned her Master’s Degree in international business at Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit, Mich., a master’s degree in philosophy at WSU and her bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from Hope College in Holland, Mich.

Trinh is a board member of the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan and a member of its Leave A Legacy program, a member of the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Metro Detroit and a member of Partnership for Philanthropic Planning based in Indianapolis, Ind.

She resides with her husband in West Bloomfield, Mich.
