The Kiwanis Club of Chelsea recently held an annual event where members of the Chelsea Police Department and the Chelsea Area Fire Authority are invited to a meeting that’s held in their honor.

It’s a chance for the Kiwanis Club to express their appreciation for the work done by these vitally important civil servants, according to information from Kiwanian John Knox.

Attending the meeting for the Chelsea Police Department were Chief Edward Toth, Rich Kinsey, Frank Kornexl, Steve Jascot, John Dettling, Michael Poxson, Ron Laczo, David Dettling, Steve Piatt, Dennis Hall and Lenard McDougall.

Those able to attend and represent the Fire Authority were Capt. Chris Smyth, Lt. Scott Basar, firefighters Ian Ballard, Eric Stanley, and Zachary Lessner.

Both departments updated the Kiwanis Club on their recent and future activities.
